Janet Bland Phillips

Mrs. Phillips was born November 28, 1928 in Zuni, Virginia and lived most of her life in the Tidewater area.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Fanny Bland and husband Frank Phillips, Jr. and a daughter Sylvia Diane Davis. She had a passion for baking, sewing crocheting. She loved to play BINGO and socializing with friends. She loved traveling and loved to brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Phillips graduated from Granby High School and was a member of Charity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four children Leonard Davis and wife Robin Marsha Allen and husband Thomas, Donna Nash and husband Grover and Rodney Phillips and wife Susan; grandchildren Andrea Smith, Mariah Standing, Kenneth Halstead, Wes Whitehurst, Chase Phillips, Ashton Vosler and Blayne Allen; 7 great grandchildren EliseMarie Standing, Ethan Standing, Parker Vosler, Dustyn Halstead, Carsyn Halstead, Prestyn Halstead, Annelyn Halstead and Whitney and Alden Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
