John was born March 18, 1999. He was a kind, thoughtful and loving son and was always there to help others. He loved his family and had so many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Jon Kevin Nash, his maternal grandmother, Vivian Stevenson, and his paternal grandparents, John and Willie Nash Jr.
J-Dub was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Hickory High School. He was previously employed with Kevcor and most recently with lifelong family friend Ernie Lee(Anita), at his business Ernie Lee's Painting as a painter. He enjoyed spending time with family, the beach, fishing, cornhole and playing pool - especially with his Mom, where he would run the table all the way to the end, but ensuring his Mom won.
Survivors include his loving mother Stacey Nash; brother Jon Travis Nash, two sisters Sheena Skenes (Billy) and Amanda Cornwell (Adam), and his maternal grandfather, Richard Stevenson.
He was also survived by his nieces and nephews Desirae, Will, Cameron, Amiah, and Shayla (Bean). And cousins, Kyle, Britnie, Madison, Dion, Kayden, Ryder, Kash, John (Jessica), Kobe, Samantha and Lucas as well as many other loving cousins, aunts, uncles, several close friends who were like family to him, and his beloved dog, Achilles.
J-Dub was a bright spark to everyone around him. Always a laugh and a positive attitude, always pointing out the blessings in life. He was well known for a short text or phone call just to see how you were doing and to say that he was thinking of you and loved you. There was a special place in his heart for the children in the family.
J-Dub was a giving, caring and selfless soul. He had a generous heart, never hesitating to help people out, whether he knew them or not. He will be deeply missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home Tuesday, October 25 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
