VIRGINIA BEACH-Rev. John Dunaway Seward, 82, passed away on July 2, 2011.
Rev. Seward served as pastor for many churches throughout Hampton Roads including Brook Baptist Church, Elizabeth River Baptist Church and served as associate pastor at Westhampton Baptist Church. He was instrumental in starting Newmarket Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Bobbie Louise Seward, a son, Robert Winston Seward and wife, Kathie of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter, Karen Sims and husband, Allen of Purvis, MS; and three grandchildren.
A celebration of Rev. Seward’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 1:00 pm at Elizabeth River Baptist Church, 601 Sparrow Road, Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
