Born Junior Lloyd George Wynter on February 20, 1961, in Kingston, Jamaica, he was the son of Lloyd George Wynter and Norma Blacelma Skervin. As a young boy, Junior had a love for drawing and was an excellent student. He attended Calabar All-Age School and later Holy Trinity Secondary School, where he pursued studies in engineering.
Junior immigrated to the United States in the early 1980s and later settled in Virginia Beach, Virginia in the early 1990s. He worked for many years in sales with the personalized catalog company, Lillian Vernon. He also dedicated over 10 years to warehouse operations and quality assurance roles at Busch Manufacturing and Comsaco Inc. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Walmart, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and thoughtful nature.
Junior lived life at his own pace; he marched to the beat of his own drum, moving with care and intention as though each step was thoughtfully considered. He was loving, kind, and known for his infectious smile that brought a quiet sense of calm to those around him. Junior held no grudges and embodied a forgiving spirit that reflected his genuine and authentic self. He loved spending time and celebrating life’s moments with those closest to him, finding joy in good company, good conversation, and the pleasure of being present together. Those around him couldn’t help but feel the sense of ease and light he carried within him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Junior is survived by his children Nathanael and Niara; his mother, Norma Skervin; his uncle and aunt, Horace and Sybil Clarke; his partner of 32 years, Mesah Jones and her daughter, Brianna; his siblings, Michael, Mark, Howard, and Kenise; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
We will forever remember Junior’s gentle spirit and warm presence. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished always.
Rest in eternal peace, our precious Junior.
