Lemuel “David” Foxwell, 84, passed away on April 6, 2023. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Robert and Ida (Gwaltney) Foxwell. He graduated from Granby High school and went on to trade school at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. David retired as a contracts manager for Earl Industries, formerly Moon Engineering. He loved working on computers and keeping up the latest technology. In his early years, he enjoyed weight training at the gym, playing softball, and golf with his brothers. In his later years, he loved word puzzles, watching all kinds of sports, and watching his sons officiate various sporting events. He was a member of the Kempsville Masonic Lodge # 196, and a Shriner.
David was predeceased by his loving wife of 25 years, Doris Lee Brady; and two sons, Johnny K. Foxwell and Brian L. Foxwell; both of his brothers, Herbert “Boyd” Foxwell and Robert H. “Bobby” Foxwell.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, David H. Foxwell; his daughter, Donna Foxwell Zerby and her husband Rex; four grandchildren, Sara, David, Lukas, and John Austin; and a great grandchild, Addison. He was very proud of his family.
A Memorial Service with Masonic Rites will be held on Friday, April 21, 2:00p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home by Pastor Scott Foxwell.
