Lila Thornton McCoy

Lila was a homemaker who spent her days taking care of her family, friends, and anyone else in need. She loved to cook (giving most of it away), read, sew, listen to her Christian music, and spend time working in the yard. She took pride in her garden and flowers. She was always giving and caring for others before herself. She loved her God, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Larry T. McCoy, Jr., her parents, Warren D. Thornton and Grace Huffman Spencer, and her siblings, Faye Bartlett, Peggie Copeland, and Douglas Thornton.

She is survived by her four children, Larry, Sonya, Harry, and Daryl along with her grandchildren Christopher, Harry Jr., Serena, Lydia, Ryann, Elizabeth, and Daryl Jr., as well as her great grandchildren, Ellie, Colson, Ruby and Mason.

Her life will be honored at Rosewood Memorial Park on Friday, February 25, 2022 at

11 a.m. Her ashes will be buried next to her husband with visitation and reception to follow in the funeral home.
