Lois Lee Jones Livingston

Lois L Jones Livingston, 93, passed away on November 30, 2011. She was born on January 31, 1918 in Norfolk, VA to the late Zula C. and French O. Harris. She is predeceased by her first and second husbands, William Linwood Jones Sr., and John C. Livingston; grandsons, Richard Kenneth Bauer, Jr., and David John Bauer; and brother, Pete Harris.

Lois was a hairdresser for 60 years, retiring when she was 80 years old. She also owned her own beauty shop at one time. Lois was an active member of Lynnhaven Colony United Church of Christ for 50 years and when she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law she joined Frances Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Norview Chapter No. 131.

Lois was a devout Christian and loved her church. All her grandchildren called her “Mamaw” and one of her greatest joys was having her entire family over for dinner every Sunday. Everyone gathered at her house on Christmas Day as well. She loved to play cards, especially poker, and insisted on playing with “real” money. Lois enjoyed working and made many friends over the years;

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Doris M. Bauer and husband Richard of Virginia beach, VA; son, William L. Jones Jr. and wife Beverly of Cocoa Beach, Fl; four grandchildren, Teresa Diane Bauer and husband Duncan Erb of Virginia Beach, VA., Ashley J. Sullivan and husband Jeff of Springfield, VA., Lawrence P. Jones and wife Susan of Smithfield, VA., and Thomas B. Jones of Jacksonville, FL; eleven great grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Bay Point Medical and Rehabilitation Center for the quality care and compassion given to Lois during her stay with them.
