Mary C. Upton, 88, went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2014. She is predeceased by her husband, Calvin Upton, III. Mary retired from Virginia Beach Public School System after over 10 years of service.
She is survived by her children, Mary Nell Young and husband John, Calvin Upton, IV and wife Patricia, Patricia Lake and husband Rick, and Gale Adair Gillespie; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Ann. Special thanks to Miss Kitty the home caregiver.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
