Mildred Franklin Joyce

Mildred Franklin Joyce, 96, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born on July 31, 1921 in Henry County, VA to the late Della and Henry H. Franklin. Mildred attended Averitt College, was crowned Miss Southside Virginia of 1936, and was a founding member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years Harry C. Joyce; her sister Ailene Fleming of Martinsville, VA; two sons Michael Joyce (Sheryl) and Neil Joyce (Beth); four grandchildren, Ryan Joyce (Kerrie), Amy Comiskey (David), Hunter Joyce and Tyler Joyce; and four great granddaughters.
