Mr. Hendricks was born on October 05,1945 in Carlinville, Illinois to his parents, Jessie and Rosemary Hendricks. He worked at numerous places as a young adult that included working for the Railroad and security for the coal mines in Gillespie and Carlinville, Illinois. He married Johnnie Mae Earp in June of 1966. The Hendricks’ resided mostly in Staunton, Illinois where Morris worked as a truck driver and Johnnie became a nurse. In 1998, they moved to be closer to their daughter in Virginia Beach where Morris continued his truck driving career. He retired in 2006 and dedicated his remaining time to his children and grandchildren, as well as riding his bicycle, fishing and just enjoying nature.
Mr. Hendricks is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kandy and Lee Drake of Virginia; his son Monte Hendricks of Virginia; his son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Megan Hendricks of Missouri; his son Kristopher Hendricks of Illinois; His sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Leon Schumacher of Texas; His brother and sister-in-law Charles and Susan Hendricks of Kansas; His brother and sister-in-law Brian Hendricks and Valerie Jarman-Gosch of Illinois; His step-sister and brother-in-law Donna and Mark Rauzi; His brother and sister-in-law Rollie and Grace Hendricks of Utah; His brother and sister-in-law Kent and Allison Hendricks; His brother and sister-in law Ed and Cindy Hendricks of Kansas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Meier, Jesse Meier, Mary Drake, Natasha Richardson, Joseph Richardson, Alessa Drake, Zackary Drake, Nicholas Hendricks Jr, Emilee Drake, Jeramy Hendricks, Harrison Hendricks, Jamison Hendricks, Jacob Hendricks, JD Hendricks, Olivia Hendricks, and Gabriel Hendricks and eight great-grandchildren; Charlotte, Brodey, Lucien, Scarlett, Emilia, Mary Jaylene, Leviathan, Joshua(Scooter); and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jessie and Rosemary Hendricks; loving step-father Donald Hayes; his wife Johnnie Mae; his son Joshua Kane; and his sister Theresa Henderson.
A Memorial Service will take place on March 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Hendricks’s life.
