Born in Portsmouth, VA, on November 5th, 1977, he was a long-time resident of Virginia Beach, attended Virginia Beach public schools and attended Princess Anne high school where he joined the football & wrestling teams, won numerous wrestling matches and brought the school to state championships. He graduated from Princess Anne high school in 1996 and started his 30+ year career as a master well driller and business owner. Bobby was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time on the water going offshore fishing with friends.
Although he was challenged with a late-stage pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2019, he did not let this define his life. He did not want to be someone "battling" a disease or going through a "journey." He knew that time was of the essence, and he faced each day with determination and grit, earning him the nickname “Bear”
Bobby was well-read, curious and family-oriented. His stubbornness, practicality and sense of humor were some of his greatest attributes that contributed to his perseverance throughout his illness.
Wherever he went, he was sure to make friends (and many of them) and had a loving and caring spirit.
Bobby is survived by his wife Courtney; two children, William and Wesley. He is also survived by his parents, Robert Julian Sr. & wife Renee of Va Beach, VA; brother, Jeffery Julian, his wife, Cherish; and nephew, Grant, of Suffolk, VA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Bobby will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
