Wayne Paul Kelly

Wayne Paul Kelly, 73, of Virginia Beach, VA, departed this life on July 3, 2025. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, in 1951 to Joseph Paul and Ellen Swede Kelly and lived the majority of his life in Virginia Beach.

Wayne attended Aragona Elementary School, Bayside Junior High School and graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1969. He later attended Automotive Technical Institute and became a qualified Heavy Equipment Technichian working at several local companies including Clark Lift of Virginia and Norfolk Equipment. With his mechanical abilities, he was always the person to call when your car broke down on the side of the road!

Wayne married Linda Lee Jordan Dunn on July 30, 1994, and they were together until her passing in 2002. Together he and Linda enjoyed caring for their Cats, Lightning and Thunder, and their Cactus collection. When Wayne was in a talkative mood, he was quite the storyteller!

As many boys growing up in Aragona Village, Wayne played Little League Baseball with the Aragona-Pembroke League and was an Alter Boy at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church. His interests included Billiards, Disc Golf, NASCAR Racing and NFL Football. He was a big fan of Dale Ernhardt, the Cleveland Browns and the character Jethro Gibbs of the TV show NCIS.

Wayne was preceded in death by his Parents, Ellen and Joe, and his loving Wife, Linda. He is survived by his Sister, Theresa (Jay) Arterberry, Brother, Patrick Kelly and Sister, Denise (Ken) Brown, his many neices, Sabrina Szeba, Crystal Kelly (Duane Worley), Michelle Arterberry (Chris Mueller), Ashley Arterberry-Clark, Chelsea Arterberry, Casey (Mario) Perez, his Nephew, Derek (Tiera) Arterberry, his special Aunt, Norma Smith, many cousins, extended family and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Wayne will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. Following the Gathering will be a Graveside service at 2:00 PM at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association in Wayne’s name.
