William was known for being hard-working and devoted throughout his life. His dedication was evident in his career, where he retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of honorable service. Following his military career, he continued to serve his community by working for Parks and Recreation for the City of Virginia Beach for 19 years. Also in his past time, he loved fishing and building legos.
Survivors include his loving wife Brenda Ratcliffe, son Joshua Ratcliffe and wife Stephanie, two daughters Erica Isreal and Jessica Ratcliffe; two sisters Sherri Jackson and Irma Hicks; 5 grandchildren Lori, Brooklyn, Emma, Mia, and Virgil
and special friends, Rick and Kathi Gent.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2:00 to 4:00 pm with Military Honors at 2:30pm.
He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment and contributions to his family, community, and country.
