

She was the beloved wife of Ronald M. Benoit for 54 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Vilma (DeCristofaro) Turchetta.
Along with her husband she leaves, her loving son and caregiver, Joseph Benoit; her siblings Vincent, William and Angela Turchetta; one niece and several nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves her dear friends of 45 years, Bernie and Annette Pearson. She was the sister of the late John “Brother” Turchetta.
Barbara had worked for over 30 years in customer service in the printing industry until her retirement. She was a communicant of Sts. Rose & Clement Church where she taught CCD, and also a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She had served as a Eucharistic Minister for Immaculate Conception Church, Rhode Island Hospital, and for those that were homebound. In her free time, she loved to crochet hats, mittens and scarves that she would donate to Crossroads. Barbara loved to shop and with her affectionate smile, strangers would become friends, especially any children and dogs. She was the proud grandma of her grand dog Princess.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2nd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
