Margarita (Yurkstas) Jagminas, of Bridgewater, MA, age 95, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Romualdas Jagminas, Sr., with whom she shared a devoted and enduring marriage.
Born in Lithuania, Margarita was the cherished daughter of the late Algimantas and Maria (Skucas) Yurkstas. In 1944, she courageously fled her war torn homeland with her family in search of safety and hope. It was during her time in a displaced persons camp that she met the love of her life, Romualdas. They were married in 1948 and, together, immigrated to the United States in 1949, building a new life rooted in faith, perseverance, and deep love for family.
Margarita and her husband settled in Bridgewater, where they raised their three sons and became a steady, loving presence in their community. She was deeply devoted to her family and worked alongside her husband in their German Shepherd breeding business, contributing her time, care, and unwavering support. A woman of many talents, Margarita found great joy in cooking and gardening and took immense pride in her beautiful garden. She also loved fishing and was affectionately known by her family as an ace fisherman, proudly earning the title by always being the first to catch a fish.
She is lovingly remembered as the devoted mother of Eugenijus “Eugene” Jagminas, Liudvikas Jagminas and his wife Regina, and the late Romualdas Jagminas, Jr. and his wife Deborah. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kristina, Jessica, Romualdas III, Heidi, Stephanie, Eugene, Liudas, Darius, and Aleksus, and a cherished great grandmother of six. Margarita is also survived by her dear brother, Algimantas “Al” Yurkstas and his wife Jillian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 8:00-9:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third Street, East Greenwich. Burial will be held privately.
