Born Patricia Ricci in Providence, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Pontrelli) Ricci, she carried with her throughout her life the warmth, pride, and traditions of her Italian heritage. A devout Catholic, her faith was a cornerstone of her life and a quiet but constant presence in everything she did.
Patty spent her entire adult working life in the insurance industry, becoming deeply knowledgeable in her field over a career that spanned decades.
She was the devoted mother of four children — Nicky, David, Lynne and her husband John, and Maryann. She was also an immensely proud and loving grandmother to David and Ava (children of Nicky); Anthony, the late Andrew, Alyssa, Sienna, and Maiori (children of David); and Joseph, Zachary, Ricky, and Tyler (children of Maryann). Her grandchildren were the center of her world and brought her immeasurable joy. Their visits meant everything to her.
She is survived by her sister, Ann DiBoni (Ricci), and was predeceased by her brother Raymond and her beloved grandson Andrew.
Patty was known for her cooking and, especially, her baking. Her creations would have had a place at any Rhode Island bakery. She established the cherished family tradition of Christmas cookies, and her homemade birthday cakes were something her family looked forward to year after year — small but deeply meaningful gestures that spoke to who she was. Those traditions will live on in the family she helped shape.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a joyful grandmother, and the warm heart at the center of a family that meant everything to her. Her faith, her kitchen, and her family were her world — and the love and traditions she poured into all three will continue to live on in the generations she cherished so deeply.
She will be deeply and forever missed.
