THOMPSON, Louis Shelbyville, MI Louis Dwight Thompson, age 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday November 10, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Ruth, his children Polly Thompson and Frank (Laurie) Thompson, grandchildren: Kyle Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Allisha Beggs, and Kody Beggs, his brothers Thomas (Jan) Thompson and Fredrick (Mary Ellen) Thompson, his sisters Patricia Minnema and Gladys (Gary) Baker, his sister-in-law Pat Thompson, and daughter-in-law Barbara Christenson. Louis served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and then the U.S. Army Reserve for 20 years. He retired as a repairman from Gallemeyer, before starting his own surface grinder repair company, Thompson Machine Repair. Memorials may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The family will greet relatives and friends 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main St., where military honors will be held at 5:00 PM.
