

Sharon Kay Keyzer, age 67 of Wayland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2014, at Trillium Woods-Faith Hospice after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her son John, her granddaughter Kassandra, parents Peter and Ruby Mulder, and her brother Larry Mulder. Sharon's family includes her daughter Karen & Ken Louwenaar of Wayland; her grandson: Alex; her great-grandson Reese; her sister Shirley Kaminski; her sisters-in-law: Nancy Mulder and Jeanne Keyzer; her brother-in-law Terry (Ezz) Keyzer; her nephews: Wade, Luke, Jason, Brian, Denny, Daren, and Peter; and her nieces: Lori, Pam, and Sarah. Sharon married Wayne Keyzer June 6, 1968. She was a graduate of Martin High School, where she was a drum majorette, and Western Michigan University. She taught Kindergarten, Head Start and Second Grade. Sharon was the owner and operator of several businesses over the years, including a baton twirling business at age 12, the Learning Center, she helped Wayne with Christmas Tree plantation and sales, and Gift Givers Corporate Gift Baskets and Gift Shop. She was a member of the Shelbyville United Methodist Church. Sharon loved family and friends and helping others. Friends may visit with Sharon's family on Friday, January 2, 2014, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Wayland. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Martin United Methodist Church with Pastor Sean Kidd officiating. Interment will follow at South Martin Cemetery.
