

Alan Craig Seamend, better known as Pop, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016. Alan was born on April 8, 1955 in Independence, Missouri to Gene and Margaret Seamend. At the age of 5, Alan and his three siblings, Terry, Sandi and Debbie, moved to Ellington Air Force base in Webster, Texas. The family later relocated to League City where they found permanent residency and Alan made a life-long friendship with Vic Squier. In 1975 Alan married Gloria Christmann and later welcomed 2 children, Angela and Alan. Alan attended College of the Mainland Police Academy. He graduated in 1977 and served as a police officer for the better part of 10 years, where he earned the nickname of Bull Flea. He then made a career change to the Automatic Welding and Pipeline Industry, where he had the opportunity to work and travel overseas.
Alan never met a stranger. To know him was to love him. His compassion and generosity for others was unlike any other. If you needed it and he had it to give, it was yours! He loved watching his grandsons play sports and his granddaughter dance. Alan referred to himself, children and grandchildren as the “A Team”.
Alan was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, of Joaquin, Texas. Alan is survived by his beloved dog, Heidi; daughter, Angela and husband Daniel of Seabrook, Texas; son, Alan and wife Melissa of Seabrook, Texas; grandchildren Aidan, Aubre, Ally, Shelby and Madison; mother of his children and life-long friend, Gloria Christmann; father, Gene of Joaquin, Texas; brother, Terry and wife Nancy of Hastings, Nebraska; sisters Sandi and husband Allen of Bayview, Texas and Debbie and husband Tom of Waco, Texas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Alan’s Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
