Arthur Ernest Mosley was born July 4, 1936 and he peacefully passed away on August 14, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years, Brenda Lee Mosley and two children, Jan Bass and Kenneth Mosley, a brother Curtis Clark Mosley and his wife Gay, and a sister Ruth Lindsey. He was a kind and loving grandfather to four grandchildren, Thomas Bass, Rachel Bass, Benjamin Bass and Breanna Mosley plus three great grandchildren, Owen Bass, Tristan Bass and Damien Hernandez. Lastly, his constant companion Freckles, his beloved dog, also feels the loss. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lucille Mosley and two brothers John Mosley and Carl Mosley.
Arthur was born in El Paso, Texas and after his family moved a few times, settled in Dry Creek, Louisiana. He often recalled many stories of life and adventure on their farm, a number of times resulting in the listeners big eyes as they wondered if the tales were true and ending in laughter. After high school, he spent four years in the Navy. He traveled the world on a ship and discovered adventure on a large scale. Shortly after he was discharged, he married the love of his life and moved to Baytown, Texas. He worked for the refineries as a Master Millwright, until he retired from Oxidental Petroleum.
In his retirement, he moved to Kingwood, Texas and he enjoyed visiting land that he had kept in his hometown of Dry Creek. He loved to drive the tractors and take care of the land. He enjoyed the smell of fresh hay and rain, the sounds of wind in the pine trees and crickets at dusk. He enjoyed BBQing for family get togethers, painting still life and landscapes and being with his family. He was a problem solver and a handyman who could fix anything, much to the chagrin of his family, as there was never a need to get something new. A fact that we all grew to admire and a skill that we all wish that we had. He had a sincere love of the Lord and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Arthur leaves a family that will miss him, and while we will attempt to recount his stories as best as we can, no one will tell the tale with the same flair as he. His legacy, of the love of God and family will live on through his children and grandchildren.
