Ba Phuc Lu Ph D

Ba Phuc Lu, 93, of Friendswood, TX passed away 2/18/2023. He was born in Quang Tri, Vietnam on 1/1/1930 to Mr. and Mrs. Ninh Phuc Lu. Mr. Lu worked for Lockheed Aerospace as an aerospace communication engineer for 23 years. Before that he served as section chief in South Vietnam Military Signal Corp until the fall of Saigon in 1975. He had Bachelor degrees in Radio Wave Engineering from France, and Vietnam. Master and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania. He served as a faculty in Electrical Engineering of Phu Tho National Technical Center and Saigon University of Science prior to emigrated to the United States in 1980 and worked for Lockheed Aerospace as an aerospace communication engineer until retirement. He was a member of Quang Tri and Hue Vietnamese Association, Vietnam National Military Academy Association and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and had a passion for woodworking, maintaining cars, tinkering, and improving things around the house, most of all spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minh Tuyet Nguyen, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ninh Phuc Lu, his brothers Anh Phuc Lu and Tung Phuc Lu.

He is survived by his son, Son Nguyen, wife Huong Nguyen and daughter Christine Nguyen; daughter Kim Oanh Nguyen and granddaughters An Bui, and husband Christian Oh, KimMy Bui and husband Phong Nguyen and granddaughters; his son, Thang Lu and wife Michelle Tran and their children Tiffany, Sophie and Derek; brother Tram Lu and wife Khanh Nguyen, their sons and daughter Trung Son Lu and wife Andrea Tran, Hai Son Lu, Thu Thuy Lu and husband Jeff Caven, and grandsons Sean and wife and daughter, Michael and wife, Peter and wife, Patrick and wife and son, Kevin, and Alex, granddaughter Vivan;

A visitation for Ba will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A visitation will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
