Bobby was a courageous young man who found the love of his life with a special Wink of his eye. He was kind and loving with a vibrant personality. His infectious smile lit up the room, and he never knew a stranger. He loved fishing with his family and strumming his guitar added melody to our lives. Yet, it was his unmistakable whistle that helped defined him—a unique signature of joy and warmth that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to hear it.
Bobby exemplified an unmatched work ethic, starting his career at Chicago Pneumatic before becoming the proud Founder & Owner of Hurricane Tool & Supply. It seemed like everyone in Glen and John's circle had, at some point, worked at Hurricane Tool. Bobby created an environment that instilled values of hard word & integrity.
Bobby's creativity and artistic talents were truly remarkable. Additionally, his passion for woodworking was evident in the crafts he lovingly created for people.
Many friends cherish wonderful memories of Mr. Harper coaching their baseball and softball teams. Those days remain etched in our hearts as something truly special.
Bobby had a deep love for cruising, and after Mom and Dad's first cruise to Alaska, they were hooked. In 2020, when our planned cruise was canceled, we threw him a cruise-themed birthday party that turned out awesome! Bobby also loved taking Sandra to the casinos, where, whether he won or lost he remained the same fun person he was. I believe he had this philosophy throughout his life. We sure hit the jackpot with having him in our lives.
Dad was so excited to get his 1931 Model A car – Henry. He was so proud to drive Henry around town! The aahhhhoouuuggaaa horn sound made him smile from ear to ear.
As a parent, he wasn't afraid to express his emotions, set boundaries by saying no, and instill consequences when needed. Yet, he was equally adept at teaching the virtues of forgiveness, showering us with love, and imparting the importance of integrity. He enjoyed watching his children transition into parents and was so excited to become a grandpa! Being a grandpa to Madeline, Christopher & Mia, was one of his proudest accomplishment.
Dad's love extended to the Boeger Family, nieces and nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Myrtle Harper. His sisters Janie Harper & Judy Harper and his brother Alex Harper.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Harper, son Glen Harper, daughter Julie Ruffino & son-in-law Derek Ruffino & nephew John, Carlotta & Ashley Kaldor. He was a proud Pepaw & Papa to three beautiful grandchildren Madeline Harper, Christopher Ruffino & Mia Ruffino. His loving sisters Betty Harper, Barbara Harper & brother David Harper. He is loved by his extended family & friends.
