Carolyn retired as an English teacher with J. Frank Dobie High School in the Pasadena Independent School District.
She had a passion for gardening which she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they would help her plant her vegetable gardens. Carolyn loved to travel and served as an Ambassador with the People-to-People Organization for many summers. Her favorite trips were to Russia and Australia. She loved taking large family adventures to Alaska, Disney World, and many Caribbean cruises. Perhaps her greatest passion was her love of dogs and her puppies, Riki and Roki.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and son, John Mark Stevens.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Eldridge “Skipper” Stevens, daughters Karen Oswald & husband Art Oswald of Friendswood and Lisa Lazenberry & husband Hugh Lazenberry also of Friendswood; grandchildren, Amanda & Collin Oswald, Hugh Jr, Steven, & Lauren Lazenberry and Alyssa & Casey Rollins; great-grandchildren Ella & Callie Rollins; brother Lawrence Smith and wife Sandra Smith.
