Charles Wayne Jaynes

Charles Wayne Jaynes 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Monday afternoon, January 21st at Houston's Methodist Hospital. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Lee Jaynes, his mother Emily Oneida Jaynes, sister Billie McGinty, and one grandson Remington Wayne Jaynes.

He is survived by his wife Billie Jaynes, brother Robert Jaynes, brother Richard Jaynes, daughter Glenda Clark, daughter Gaye Stuchly, son Rusty Jaynes, son Randy Jaynes, 6 grandchildren and 3 grandchildren, as well as, further extended family and innumerable friends.

Charley, as he was affectionately known, retired from Continental Can Co. after 39 years and then purchased and operated a very successful oil change business on Spencer Highway in So. Houston for several years.

He was a member of Beth-El Church in Brookside Village where he served on the Board of Elders and was a member of the worship team. Charley went regularly to a local nursing home in Pasadena to sing and minister joy to the residents there. He would encourage people wherever he went. He enjoyed his involvement in music, golf, church and especially with his family. He has been a well respected member of our community for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
