Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Cynthia Ann Faulkner Parker was born in Oklahoma City on June 15, 1933. She grew up in a loving family that allowed her to develop her talents and pursue her passions; one of which was a lifelong love for travel that was prompted by her distinction of being the first child in the United States to fly unaccompanied. After graduating from San Jacinto High School, in Houston, she continued her education, attending Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Upon her graduation, she was blessed with the opportunity to travel much of Western Europe, further igniting her love for travel and culture. Her experience and passion led to a career with Air France.
In 1959, Cynthia married the love of her life, Carleton J. Parker Jr. and raised three boys. She dedicated much her adult life to her family and her passion for Christ. Cynthia attended Lakewood Church for 30 years and, for the last several years of life, was a member at Central Assembly of God. Her desire for travel and tireless faith led her to visit Israel three times. Cynthia’s life culminated with the trip of a lifetime to meet her Savior in heaven. She will be remembered as a woman of great conviction to her faith and devotion to her family. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
Survivors: Sons, Claude B. Parker, Carleton J. Parker III and Craig J. Parker; Sister, Patty Cummings; Daughter-in-laws; Grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a wealth of friends.
