

Dale Scott King, 84, was born February 2, 1927 in Floydada, Texas. He joined his Lord and Savior March 11, 2011. He graduated from Floydada High School, attended Texas Tech for 1 year, served in the Marine Corps 2 years then returned to school and obtained a B.A. in Education from the University of West Texas, a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Houston, and CPA certification from the Texas State Board. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Reta Childers in Tula, Texas. They had 2 sons. He taught at Highland Elementary School for 2 years then moved to Houston in 1966 and went to work for Ford Aerospace, where he became a supervisor of finance in 6 short months. He retired from this company after 25 years in 1991. Dale was highly respected and loved by all he worked with.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Scott King; mother, Ethel Grace Haines King; two sisters, Edelle King Smith and Joyce King Russell and a brother, Hunter King. He leaves behind a wife of 60 years, Reta Joyce King of Houston; 2 sons, Roy Scott King of Houston and Gary Keith King of Austin; 1 grandchild, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Afterward he will travel to Floydada, Texas for additional services under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home and interment in the Floydada Cemetery.
