

He was born on November 6th, 1955 in Bellevue, Ohio to Gerard and Marguerite (Christman) McClain.
He attended Bellevue Immaculate Conception, graduating from Bellevue High School in 1974. Dennis attended Notre Dame University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from University of Houston-Clear Lake with a bachelor of science degree in Physics-Electro Optics.
Dennis spent his career working in the space industry, supporting the training of astronauts at Johnson Space Center before transferring to Boeing as a Senior Engineer and Project Manager specializing in projects relating to the International Space Station where he earned numerous awards.
Dennis lived a wonderous, adventurous life. In his early years he spent so much time at the Gerhardstein orchard with his best friend Sam that he became one of the family. In later years you could find him racing sailboats on Lake Erie with friends.
Dennis was a very kind, generous person who founded the Clear Lake Celtic Music Association and Festival which ran for many years with proceeds going to various charities. He was known as a great harmonica player who loved playing with bands on the stage or with friends at smaller venues raising money for charity. In his spare time, he travelled with family and friends to Celtic music festivals and foreign destinations. Dennis loved to meet new people and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.
Dennis will be dearly missed by his son, Conor McClain of Houston, sister Monica McClain of New Mexico, brothers Jeff (Pam) McClain of Oregon, Pat (Megan) McClain of Ohio, Brian (Amy) McClain of Arizona, and Bradly (Cathy) McClain of Ohio along with nephews Rory (Taylor) McClain , Shea McClain and nieces Marguerite McClain and Mary McClain (Coleman) Fitch.
Preceded in death by his parents Gerard and Marguerite (Christman) McClain and numerous aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tree House on Sunday, December 21st at 901 East Nasa Parkway, Houston, Tx. starting at noon.
A separate memorial and Celebration of Life will be held Spring/Summer of 2026 in Bellevue,Ohio.
