Donald Lee Mitchell

Donald was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma on December 3, 1939. After graduation from University, he worked for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as the financial management officer. After retiring from NASA in 1994, Donald took the Christian Seminaries and Theological master of Divinity degree and became the ordained pastor of Eastern Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1995 and in 1997 Donald was ordained Deacon. He served as a pastor of Pirtle United Methodist Church, Laird Hill United Method Church, Henderson United Methodist Church, Lufkin United Methodist Church and retired from Eastern Texas Conference. In 2006, he moved to Galveston, Texas and then moved to Spring, Texas to live with his daughter, Jennifer, in 2010. Donald also served in the National Guard of the United States in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Left to cherish Donald’s memory are his daughters Jennifer Cradit (Mark Cradit), Carrie Wilburn (Michael Wilburn); three very special grandchildren, Mathew Cradit, Laura Cradit and Tiffany Wilburn; sister Bernice Moore; and brother Bob Mitchell.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Donald's Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
