Donita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian Bennett; her children, Tracy Barksdale and Jason Bennett; her cherished grandchildren, Kaylee and Jameson, who were the light of her life; her parents, Carolyn Tobey and Ernie Farris; and her sister, Joyce Duncan. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
To know Donita was to be loved by her. She was endlessly caring and always there when someone needed her. She had a joyful, unforgettable sense of humor—she loved potty humor, French silk pie, and collecting reward points at her favorite restaurants. She was known for her sweet quirks, including her inability to order at a drive-through without laughing, and the familiar sigh that followed every laugh—a trait lovingly shared with her daughter.
Donita had a rare gift for making people feel instantly comfortable. Everywhere she went, people adored her. Her warmth turned strangers into friends, including the Taco Cabana employee who once invited her to Thanksgiving dinner after she jokingly lamented not knowing what she’d do if they were closed for the holiday.
Some of her happiest moments were spent laughing uncontrollably with her best friend, Brenda—laughs so deep they inevitably ended with the phrase, “oh forever more.” Those moments captured Donita perfectly: joyful, present, and full of life.
Being a grandmother brought her immense pride and happiness, and her love for Kaylee and Jameson knew no bounds. Her legacy lives on in her family, in the laughter she shared so freely, and in the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.
Donita will be remembered for her loving heart, her humor, her loyalty, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. We find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior, and that her love will continue to surround those she leaves behind until they meet again.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
