She was born in Medford, Oregon on September 28, 1925 to Raymond and Grace Crump.
Donna Harris had a Master’s degree in Art Education and was an Art Teacher for Alvin ISD for 23 years
before retiring on May 31, 1986. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had a
passion for camping, painting, weaving, watercolors and shopping. Donna also received the Distinguished Fellows Award of the Texas Art Education Association in 2011 and was a life member of Contemporary Handweavers of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Alberta Crump and Raymond Crump; brother Leslie Crump and son Benton Albert Harris.
She is survived by daughters Clarice Rae Shanks and husband Earl; Sally Morris and Husband Robert; grandchildren Tina Clarice Mills, Grayce Rae McCrory, Timothy Wade Mills and Jason Clint Mills and wife Kimberly. Along with numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and extended relatives and lifelong friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 2nd, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, and Webster, Texas 77598. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow.
