Edward Doyle Thomas, a cherished and adventurous soul, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on December 17, 1943, Edward was a resident of Houston, Texas, known for his hard-working nature and vibrant spirit.
Edward was self-employed as a convenience store owner of Dixie Drive Inn for 32 years, a testament to his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. In his later years, he worked as a hot shot delivery truck driver for Kevin Trucking Co., continuing to contribute his skills and energy to his community.
He was married to Jannie Martin-Thomas for 15 wonderful years, sharing a life filled with love and companionship. Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Aline Thomas; father, Douglas Thomas; stepdad, Millard; brothers, Bobby and Norman Thomas; and grandson, Cody Cherry. He is survived by his wife, Jannie; daughters, Tracy Kylberg (Kris) and Erica Crumpton (Chris); step-sons, KD Martin (Leslie) and Joe Abundez; sister, Denita Khlem (Ronnie); grandson, Jon Thomas (Marie); grandchildren, Lorin, Jon Wesley, Mikayla, and Brody; and great-grandchildren, Cannon, Keaton, and Rhett.
Edward had a passion for life that was evident in his love for BBQ cook-offs, boating, riding motorcycles, and watching sports. A devoted fan of the Astros and Texans, he also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, Missouri, and Tennessee.
A visitation will be held on December 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with a committal service at 3:00 pm at the same location.
Edward's adventurous spirit and hard-working nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
