Elizabeth Medina made her debut into the world on September 11, 1961 in Brownsville, Texas to Jesus and Jesusa Cadena. She passed away peacefully on April 08, 2025 surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law after a long battle with Dementia.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Edward Medina to whom she was married to for twenty-eight years. She was also preceded by both of her parents, Jesus and Jesusa; and her older sister Amelia.
Elizabeth is survived by her only daughter, Yvette Briggs and husband Roy; her only granddaughter Olivia Medina; sisters Norma Vega and husband Reynaldo; Yolanda Flores and husband Robert; Alma Caicedo and brothers Jesus Cadena and wife Shelly; Jesse Cadena and wife Margarita. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family as well as her grand fur-babies.
Elizabeth loved her husband Edward and took pride in the life that they built together. They had a routine every Friday night where they would go out to eat and take drives and just enjoy each others company. They were soulmates and when Edward passed, she was devastated and never the same again.
There were so many hobbies that she enjoyed such as cooking, decorating, gardening, cleaning and spending time with her granddaughter Olivia.
She enjoyed decorating her home and was constantly going shopping for new decor. When anyone stepped foot into her home they were shocked at how beautifully decorated it was.
She also took pride with all the flowers in her garden and was constantly outside watering all her plants. She loved going to the store to buy new plants to place in her garden.
Elizabeth never left the house without wearing makeup and made sure her hair was done and that she looked good. She had to look beautiful at all times and enjoyed all the compliments she received.
Elizabeth also enjoyed cooking for her family and made so many appetizing meals. She was always asked to make her infamous Spanish rice because it was delicious and she always took pride in that. She loved hosting Thanksgiving because she got to cook everything with love and it brought joy to her heart to see others enjoy her cooking.
The family of Elizabeth Medina would like to thank everyone for their condolences during this very difficult time. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a service to start at 2:00 pm and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
