Ellsworth was born in Miami, Arizona on April 19th, 1931 to Elmer and Inez Jones. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Betty Jo Ann Jones in 1951 and they were blessed with 4 children. Ellsworth started at a young age working in the oil field with his father. He served in the Air Force for several years and finished up as a successful entrepreneur of 30+ years. He enjoyed working and had just recently retired. He had a passion for the Lord Jesus Christ, his family and had a never-ending pursuit for higher learning. He read the bible multiple times throughout each year of his adult life and tried his best to emulate Jesus Christ. He was always there to help his family members and strongly believed that a person should be of service to his/her family in any way that they could. His life was an example of one of his favorite scriptures, 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever”.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Betty Jo Ann; daughter, Pamela Jones; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 32 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Inez (Farque) Jones; brother, Wayne Jones; sisters, Hazel Hodges and Janice Van Huss. His daughter, Ella Jeanette "Jeannie" DeLaGarza; son, Ellsworth “Scot” Hammett and Michael Shayne Jones.
