Emma Hernandez

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ramiro Hernandez. her daughter Rosa Maria Rodriguez, son in law Reynaldo Garcia, and granddaughters Kimberly A. Garcia and Imelda Salazar, grandson Ray Hernandez Jr., her sisters Juanita Trevino, Eva Yruegas, and Belia Reyes, her brothers Benigno Zapata and Adan Zapata.

Emma was raised in Robstown, Texas and in her younger years she worked on the farms picking cotton and onions during the seasons. She loved her family and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. Emma adored her weekly bingo games and playing cards with her sisters, especially when she won. She relished her family’s tradition making tamales every Christmas Eve. Emma was an avid Astros fan and enjoyed watching the games.

Emma is survived by, her daughter Emma Garcia, sons; Guadalupe (Sylvia) Pacheco, Ramiro Ray Hernandez; her 12 grandchildren, including Ray and Lisa Garcia, Priscilla and Michael Gonzalez, and Patricia Herrero; 14 great-grandchildren, including Macy K. Garcia, Jacob Z. Lopez, and Joshua I. Herrero; and 7 great-great grandchildren. Her three sisters, Esperanza Rodriguez, Irene Gomez, Lupe Mendez and two brothers, Gilbert Zapata, Robert Zapata.

A visitation for Emma will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A rosary service will occur Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A committal service will occur Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:30 AM, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
