Evelyn Eleanor Nielsen, a beloved and compassionate soul, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on November 21, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Evelyn was a thoughtful and faithful individual who touched the lives of many.
Evelyn dedicated her career to education, working as a special education teacher and deaf education teacher. Her commitment to her students and her passion for teaching were evident throughout her career.
She was married to Dennis Nielsen for 35 years, with their marriage beginning on June 17, 1967. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Becky Bastian (Jeff Bastian), and her granddaughters, Madelyn Bastian and Violet Bastian. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law, Elaine Percynski, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and several close friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Nielsen; her son, Kevin Nielsen; her father and mother, Elmer Fischer and Eleanor Fischer; and her brother, Eugene Fischer.
In her personal life, Evelyn found joy in painting ceramics and had a deep love for Christmas. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and had a fondness for animals. Known for being a very giving person, Evelyn’s kindness and generosity were felt by all who knew her.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Forest Park East Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Texas, 77598. The service will take place on November 8, 2025, with a visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the memorial from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
