Gilberto Maldonado

Gilbert was born on November 22, 1942 in Haskell, TX to Gilbert Maldonado, Sr. and Paula Reyna. He moved to Dickinson in 1960 where he met and married Helen Navarro.

A devoted husband and father, Gilbert and Helen were blessed with four children: Susan, Armando, Stella and Daniel. Gilbert worked for the Dickinson Independent School District for 35 years. He was also a member of Freewill Baptist Church for many years and later the Church of God of Prophecy.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Sr. and Paula Reyna; his wife, Helen; and four siblings, Anita, Mary, Maggie, and Cipriano.

Gilbert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Eric Lanning; his son and daughter-in-law Armando and Delia Maldonado; his daughter and son-in-law Stella and Johnny Bellamy; his son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Tisha Maldonado; his brother, David Maldonado and sisters, Antonia Salazar, Albeza Vuitonnet and Lupita Maldonado; grandchildren Richard Gonzales, John Gonzales, Adriana Rodriguez, Heather Abraham, Amber Bryant and Emily Morris, DJ Maldonado, Ray Maldonado, Ashley Whitley, Taylor Huizar, and 14 great grandchildren with the 15th due in July 2026.
