

Glenn Edward Cook, age 80, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 12, 1943, to Hood Henry Cook Jr. and Eda Magdeline Nielson. In his youth, he was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and proudly earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 17. He attended Stephen F. Austin High School where he excelled as an athlete in football and track and was named Most Handsome his sophomore year.
Glenn graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 1970. In his early career, he was a draftsman for Southwest Fabricator, then went on to become the co-owner of Texas Pipe Bending. With an entrepreneur spirit and a love for design, he ran his own business Glenco Drafting Services. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to use his expertise for various companies in his field. He retired as a project manager from Turner Industries in 2020.
He married Donna Cook in 1975 and throughout their 48-year marriage, they devoted their time and love to raising four beautiful daughters. The pride of his life was ensuring his four daughters thrived in their walk with the Lord, excelled in their academic achievements, and soared in all their athletic activities. His ultimate joy was becoming a grandfather and watching his seven grandkids follow his passions in life. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, jet-skiing on Lake Buchanan, fishing at Matagorda Bay, gardening, and helping others.
He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for 18 years, Park Place Assembly of God for 10 years, then a member and Sunday school teacher at Christian Temple Assembly of God for 25 years. The last 11 years, he was a member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Pasadena.
Glenn was proceeded in death by his father, Hood Henry Cook Jr., his mother, Eda Magdeline Neilson, and his son-in-law, Walter Wallace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Cook. His memory and legacy will always be cherished by his four children and their spouses, Glenna (Matt) Evans, Dena Wallace, Kara (Beniamin) Cook-Tiburca, Edrea (Gabriel) Gonzales and seven grandchildren: Gracyn, Alyssa, Bret, Brooke, Vince, Bennett, and Beatrice. He is also survived by his sister, Denise Turner, and brother, Michael (Susan) Cook.
A celebration of life is schedule for Saturday, September 2, 2023.
The visitation for Glenn will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Chapel, 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. The service will occur from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. A committal service will occur after the processional at approximately 12:30 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
