Gwenola N. Mullican

She was born in Madisonville, TX to parents Olan Marvin Johnson and Blanche Irene Johnson on November 11th, 1935. Gwen graduated with honors from Madisonville High School in 1953. She moved to Houston, TX the summer of 1953 to attend business school. It was in Houston that she met and married the love of her life, her husband David Joe, of nearly 63 years, when he ordered a cup of coffee at Lang's Pharmacy, where she worked at the soda fountain. They were married on July 9th, 1955.

Gwen and David welcomed and raised 3 children, David Joe Jr., Paul Gregory, and Kathleen Ann in Houston.

Once Kathleen was in Jr. High, Gwen went to work at M.D. Anderson Hospital in the nursing payroll department, where many years later she retired.

Gwen was the ultimate wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. There was nothing she would not do for her family, always putting them first and foremost in her life. She was kind, loving, gracious, funny, and giving, and never wanting in return. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents Olan Marvin Johnson and Blanche Irene Johnson.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband of nearly 63 years, David J. Mullican Sr., her sons David J. Mullican Jr., wife Jennifer, and their daughter Siobhan;

Paul G. Mullican, wife Heyam, and their daughters, Mary El-Krab, Renee El-Krab, and Sandy Mullican; and her daughter Kathleen M. Robins and husband Dave; sisters Billy Jean Risinger and Wanda Elaine Hausler; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She will forever live in our hearts and souls.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday 16th, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
