He is survived by his siblings (2 brothers and 3 sisters) and their families, his loving wife Ann, daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Joey Frampton, daughter Natalie Haylock, stepdaughters Caitlin Katt and Meredith Schaefer and their husbands Brian and Scott. His 11 grandchildren, fondly referring to him as “Big Guy”, loved him dearly and were a source of great joy in his life.
A Vietnam veteran, Harvey was born in Port Aransas and lived most of his life in Texas. His love for the Gulf Coast was a common theme throughout his life, influencing both his working passions and his leisure activities. He and his wife lived near the coast and enjoyed time together working on home renovation projects and spending time in Galveston. Mardi Gras was truly a favorite celebration and their custom costumes for the umbrella parade were highly anticipated each year. They loved traveling and, together, cruised to numerous places in the Caribbean and Latin America. Shoreside, he was never far from his near-constant companion, their yorkie, Sadie, sitting on the patio playing an infinite game of fetch, or cooking up her favorite bacon and eggs.
Harvey’s zest for his hobbies, his friends, and his family were a trademark to all who knew him well, but his unwavering generosity of spirit was apparent to even acquaintances. His kindness and humor will be deeply missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor in the coming weeks.
