Helen Lewis

Helen Lewis, 87, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was born in Mediash, Romania on September 20, 1928 the daughter of Frantz & Emilia (Voicikovski) Hoffmann. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Donald Lewis in Germany. They celebrated 51 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 1999. She had lived in Gladwin since 2013, previously residing in Indiana, Ohio and Texas. She was employed as a housekeeper at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin, and she was known as a very kind and caring person, sharing her compassion by volunteering for many hospitals and nursing homes throughout Indiana and Texas. Her memory will be cherished by her sons: Gerald James (Joyce) Lewis of Gladwin; Richard Dennis (Cathy) Lewis of Florida. Her children blessed her with 6 beautiful grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Adolf Hoffmann of Argentina. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. A Funeral Liturgy will be conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Friday, December 18, 2015, 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
