

Henry Corona Gonzalez, 79, of Webster, Texas peacefully passed away with his family by his side on March 19, 2022. Henry was born in Villa Mainero Tamaulipas, Mexico to Raymundo and Virginia Gonzalez on October 26, 1942.
His family would later relocate to Texas and settle in Texas City. Henry graduated from Texas City High School in 1963. After graduation, Henry served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1971. Henry attended College of the Mainland where he made the Dean's List and achieved an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. He also earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Science from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Henry worked in the grocery store industry as a butcher for over 40 years and was an active member of the workers union until he retired. Henry was known as a man who always did what he said he would, lived how he saw fit and stood up for his beliefs.
Some of his hobbies included bowling and being active in his workshop he created in his garage. Henry was a crafty man and worked on lots of do it yourself projects around the home. Henry also had a “green thumb” and the ability to grow beautiful plants and flowers. He always kept a fruit or vegetable tree in his lawn.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo and Virginia Gonzalez; his two daughters, Cynthia and Yolanda Gonzalez; and two brothers, Raymond and Eloy Gonzalez.
Henry will be deeply missed by (survivors) his loving wife of 35 years, Bertha Gonzalez; son, Henry Gonzalez Jr (Nancy); daughters, Marly Gomez and Marcie Marshall (Brandon); sons, James Gomez (Katie) and Joe Gomez (Angel); nine grandchildren, Vincent, Camryn, Nicholas, Phillip, Andrea, Julian, Isabella, Ziva and Hope; Sisters, Alice Vega and Ida Lackey; and brothers, Simon Gonzalez and Eudoro Gonzalez.
A visitation for Henry will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a committal service to follow. All services will be held at at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Gonzalez family.
