

She was one of ten children growing up in a lively and love filled home that shaped her deep devotion to family and faith. She carried that same spirit throughout her life, always making space at the table for one more and ensuring no one ever felt like a stranger.
She married the love of her life, Rodney Slagle, on October 15th, 1983. Together they built a life centered on love, resilience, and unwavering support for one another. Their marriage of nearly 40 years was a testament to partnership, laughter, and enduring commitment.
Jackie was a devoted mother to her three children Genavie, Angelica, and Alyssa. She found her greatest joy in being “Mamo” to her four cherished grandchildren, Emery, Zayd, Zara, and Everette, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her eight beloved siblings: Margie, Mary, Gloria, David, Roy, Carlos, Mae, and Janet along with their extended families. She shared a unique and unbreakable bond with each of them filled with laughter, stories, and lifelong memories.
Jackie dedicated many years to caring for her own children and the children of her community. She is remembered as a vibrant, silly soul full of energy and warmth. She was someone who could light up a room the moment she walked in. She loved to listen, laugh, and of course, chismé. Always sharing stories, catching up with friends and family, and building connections wherever she went. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Alice Moreno, and her brother Richard Moreno Jr.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Texas 77598, on April 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a celebration of Jackie’s life from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Jackie’s legacy is one of strength, love, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
