

James D. Bond, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, of Pearland passed away on May 17, 2023, at 63. Born on October 22, 1959, in Pasadena, Texas, James lived a life filled with love, generosity, and a deep appreciation for family and the great outdoors.
James was the beloved husband of Gloria Bond, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. They supported each other through life's joys and challenges.
James was the cherished son of Mary Jane Gabehart and the late Richard Bond. He grew up in Pasadena alongside his sister, Sharon. Sharon is married to Ricky Robinette, and James is an uncle to Ryan and Kaelynn.
Throughout his life, James was a devoted father to, Christine Baldwin, and stepfather to Judy Hinds and Michael Briggs. Christine is married to John Baldwin. James was blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren: Robert, Ashley, Kelsey, Kendall, Mikayla, Bella, and Landon and three great-grandchildren: Ava, Faith, and Paisley. James found immense joy in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandkids brought him immeasurable happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them, earning him the endearing title of "Papa."
An avid outdoorsman, James found solace and tranquility in nature. Fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden were among his favorite pastimes. He possessed a remarkable skill for cooking, particularly when it came to barbecue. James was known for his mouth watering dishes, and his culinary talents were often showcased during family gatherings. His home was a gathering place where loved ones would share laughter, stories, and delicious meals.
However, what truly set James apart was his giving nature. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His generosity knew no bounds, whether it was offering support to family or friends.
James will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his loving spirit, his passion for the outdoors, and his dedication to family. His legacy of warmth, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate James's life will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, followed by a graveside committal service.
Food and fellowship will follow the committal service at Esteban's Fiesta Shack, located at 402 W Main St, League City, TX 77573.
