James E. Day passed away on May 3, 2010 and was born in Prague, Oklahoma on November 9, 1922. James married his wife Elsie on January 1, 1945 and they moved to Kemah in the early 1950s where they raised a family and lived the rest of their lives. James became a reputable home builder after moving to Kemah and remained so until his retirement. He also served his community as a board member of Galveston County Water Control & Improvement District #12 from December 1975 until May 1996.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; his parents, Earl and Ora Day; sister, Doris Parsons; and brother, Lloyd Day. He is survived by son, Gary Day; daughter-in-law, Linda; granddaughter, Aubrey; as well as daughter, Cheryl Allred; grandson Joshua; and granddaugter, Cara.
James will be remembered as a kind man and loving father who was well respected and served his community.
