James was born in Gadsden, Alabama where he attended grade school. The family then moved to Greens Bayou where he attended school through graduation in the Galena Park school district.
He is survived by his son; John Wylie Groover, his sisters; Sadina Clair Nicolardi Reichley and Margie Ann Reichley, several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
A celebration of life for James will be held Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
