
Jane Elizabeth (Norris) Toole passed away on May 23, 2025 at the age of 88 years because of complications from a bad fall. She was born in Loogootee, Indiana on October 2, 1936, the oldest child of Henry Dooley Norris and Helen Margaret (Keifer) Norris.
She is survived by sisters, Barbara, Ruth, Linda, Patricia, Rosemary, her only brother, Stephen Norris and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was married for 21 years and is also survived by her four children from that marriage; Teresa Anne Curzadd (Wayne), Jeffrey Alan Toole, Linda Jane Snider (Carl), Stephen Paul Toole (Lori), 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She grew up in Indianapolis where she attended and graduated from St. Mary's Academy school for girls. She was an intelligent woman and following high school, she received an academic scholarship to Marian College, which she attended for one year before transferring to St. Vincent's Hospital resident school of nursing in Indianapolis.
After marrying, she was a busy stay at home mother until her children were all in school. During that time, she became an avid seamstress, sewing clothes for the girls, reading, and driving many carpooling miles. Over the years, the family made several moves around the country following her husband's career in the United States Manned Space Program to places like West Palm Beach, Florida; Fayetteville, Tennessee; Huntsville, Alabama, and Houston, Texas. During those years, she sold real estate and worked in the banking and insurance industries. She developed interests in playing bridge and bowling. She was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts football team and she kept in contact with many of her high school classmates. She retired from the Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in 2017. She had great memories of those years and friends.
Following a private memorial service, Jane will ret on the property of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77027, where she attended.
