

Jesse Rincon Gonzales, 93, of Pearland, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Friendswood Health Care Center. Born in Seguin, Texas to Enrique and Gila Gonzalez. He lived most of his life in South Houston, Texas.
As a young man, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp where he worked to plant trees and improve America’s national parks including the Grand Canyon. When asked about Grand Canyon all he said was that it was a pile of rocks! He liked carpentry work so much that he built his own home. Jesse would come home every day from work and would work on his house until it was built. He retired from working at the Houston Ship Channel at Todd’s ship yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Gila Gonzales; siblings, Anita Hernandez, Jose Gonzales, Tomas Gonzales, Maria Gonzales, Fidela Cortez and Henry Gonzales.
He is survived by his four children, Hilda Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Linda Gonzales and Victor Gonzales; grandchildren, Elizabeth De La Garza, Victoria Gonzales, Gabriel Gonzales, Jorge Gonzalez, Jeremy Palomo; great grandchild, Carissa De La Garza; and his niece, Malisa Sickmiller.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St, Houston, TX 77034. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St, Houston, TX 77034 with interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Reception to follow after interment at Saint Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
