

Jessie was born to Erlin Ebanks and Edna Bodden Ebanks on January 6, 1940, in West Bay, Grand Cayman. It was when Jessie was fourteen that she and her family traveled to the United States settling in Port Arthur.
It was in Port Arthur where she later met her future husband Alton McGill. Alton, who was a proud U.S. Marine served during the Korean conflict, it was shortly after completing his service the two were married spending the next 62 years together.
Jessie and Alton made their home in Pasadena, Texas where they raised their two daughters Terri and Sherry.
Jessie enjoyed her time gardening, antiquing, decorating, and most of all visiting with friends and neighbors over coffee. Jessie cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her extended family and friends. She is leaving behind a lifetime of laughs, priceless "Nana" stories, and colorful memories.
Jessie was preceded in death by family members, her husband Alton McGill who passed on June 5th of 2020, her father Erlin Ebanks, Mother Edna Ebanks, her beloved brother "Buddy" Norman Erlin, and sisters, Corine Ebanks, and Jenis Harmond.
She is survived by her two daughters Terri McNeil and husband Mark of Seabrook, and Sherry Raven and husband Doug of Sugar Land; Grandchildren Drs. Chase McNeil and wife Carrie, Tanis Griffin and husband John, Mason Raven and wife Cory, Makay Raven and wife Sarah, Max Raven;
Great-Grandchildren Noah, Samuel, Makenna, and Mark; sisters Berice Connelley, Celine Meyer and husband John.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, in the Garden of Valor, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster Texas 77598. The family will receive guests in the reception area of the funeral home following the service.
