Jimmy and I connected through family member when I was just getting back from college. I was down on my luck with hardly any means to provide for myself at the time. He looked out for me like a little brother and put food on the table for me. He would always tell me I was gonna do good things in life and I had a good head on my shoulders.

I was lost at the time but he always gave me the confidence I needed to get through my day. He was always preaching to me and giving me solid advice because he genuinely cared for me. When I had questions about life, we would sit down for hours to play games and talk. I learned so much about him during this time and the hardships he went through just by having deep genuine conversations. He taught me wrong from right and to always be there for my mom. 

I will never forget the impact you made on my life as a young man. We crossed paths for a reason and one day when it’s my time, I hope we meet again brother.

Thank you for everything Jimmy, we will miss you.

I met Jimmy when I was 15 years old. During that time I was troubled teen living life without a moral compass. Jimmy guided me and was always there for me no matter the circumstance. He knew that I grew up in a broken home without a father but also have a mother who was working day and night to keep the lights on.  He took the lead and put under his guidance. Although his teaching style was tough love he knew that would be the only way I’d learn. Even to this day I still hear him tell me 

“Stop being lazy”
 “You need be clean and organized” 
“Never disrespect your mom” 
“Work harder”
 “Wake up earlier”
“Be on time”
“Stop being selfish and be more considerate of others”
“Your going to be superstar”

Jimmy was misunderstood by many people. He lived life based off old school principle. He was a man who would sacrifice his time just to make sure you had food or money in your pocket. He was man who told you the truth to your face. He was a man who loved his family and friends and would do anything for them to make sure their safe. 

I believe in my heart GOD placed Jimmy in my life during that time period to help shape me into the man I am today. 

My mother loved you so much because you helped her son become a honorable man. I am forever grateful for the time we had together. I’m glad you had a chance to see my son and wife. 

You’re an amazing story teller and I hope to be able to share with you my story when we met again.
