Joe was born on August 29, 1960, to Santos and Olivia Castillo in Jacinto City, Texas.
In 1984, Joe met the love of his life, Dolores, and they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and cherished memories. Joe was known for his unwavering protection, strength, and natural ability to bring joy to everyone around him. His infectious laughter and loyalty touched countless lives, and his skills as a talented mechanic and car detailer were admired by many. A true enthusiast, he had a special place in his heart for muscle cars and motorcycles, and he was well-known for cruising in his iconic Gold 1979 Chevrolet Camaro T-Top.
Joe was a man of incredible strength, both in spirit and in presence. Standing beside him was like standing next to the tallest, strongest person you knew, someone who radiated confidence and assurance. Joe’s love for adventure led him to weekends at the casino or a lively bingo game, and he could often be found unwinding with a favorite video game. But Joe’s happiest moments were always spent with family. He cherished countless memories with his loved ones, but he found his greatest pride in being a father and grandfather. Whether he was watching a football game and cheering on his favorite team, the Texans, or hosting a barbecue, Joe’s warmth and devotion always brought everyone together. A man of deep faith and his passion for life resonated in every moment. His spirit came alive through his love for ‘70s rock, with songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Beatles echoing his lively, joyful nature. His legacy will forever remind us of the strength, warmth, and joy he brought to every life he touched.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Santos and Olivia Castillo, whose legacy of love and strength he carried throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; his son, David; and his daughters, Ashley (Guadalupe) and Monica (John). Joe also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren, David Jr., Destiny (Christian), Emiliano, Elijah, Elias, Kataleya, Juan, and Kamila, along with his great-granddaughter, Elina. He will be greatly missed by his only sibling and sister, Sandy. As well as his nephew, Frank; nieces, Krystle and Sabrina; and his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Joe’s memory will forever be a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, strength, and laughter will be cherished by his family and friends, who find comfort in the joy he brought to their lives.
